UPDATE: Daughter Dear placed 6th. She missed the word acidulous and was very upset with herself for doing so. I let her cry her for a few minutes and gave her some words of encouragement and about the time she looked up at me last years champion went down in flames with the word hawk eye. He put a o instead of an a. Now talk about being upset... this little boy was very upset with himself. DD's teacher told her she should be happy she misspelled a hard word instead of an easy word. I'll go along with her words of wisdom.

I would like to wish Daughter Dear GOOD LUCK this morning. She will be competing in the county spelling bee. She placed fourth last year at the county level so we're hoping she will do well again this year.
