Home at last...

We got in yesterday from our trip. I have to say it was a fun filled trip. I had myself all worked up that I wouldn't have a good time because I don't like theme parks. We stayed at a wonderful hotel a mile from the park and the staff treated us like we were something special. I have never been given so many free things in my life. DD began to think every time we walked through the lobby they were going to hand her something just for saying hello. They gave her a bag of goodies twice for saying hello to them.
We did so many things on this trip but I have to say seeing the Shuttle lift off and meeting Astronaut Mike Mullane was the highlight for me. DD liked being made into a Princess and everyone giving her special treatment at Magic Kingdom.
On our way home we toured the USS Alabama and the submarine (can't remember the name) I love looking at stuff like this and I was able to get a lot of pictures too. I can't fit in the sub's hatch doors. Geez I kept hitting my head trying to get through the dang thing. Hubby kept laughing and telling me I would have never made it back then. Then we made way for Gulf Port Miss. I have never in all my life seen a sight like this it looked like a war zone after two years. I took a few pictures but felt terrible for doing so. These poor people. I coould never imagine going through something like it. Then we made our way to New Orleans. What a mess is all I have to say. They should have pulled the plug and never looked back. This place smells and it will never be the same in my eyes. We had to put are guard up once we rolled in. I don't see color when it comes to people but when we started getting into N.O. the black people would pull up beside you and look at you like they were going to harm you. It kinda freaked me out. My hubby told me they were deciding if they wanted to rob us or not. You could see the hollows of their eyes. It was like the lights are on but no one is home kind of look. We took a look at the area I wanted to see and hit the road out of there. I won't go back. I called my sister after getting out of there and told her to make different arrangements for L's 21st birthday party. I won't attend if they have it there. Enough of my rambles.
I would like to thank Mr. D in his help with taking care of this place for me. You did a great job and I'll be sending you a little something in the mail later this week.
