Weigh In

Well I could have done better but two pounds is better than none at all. I really need to hit the pavement but with the cold weather and having a metal knee, I really don't care to get out and exercise because cold temps make a metal knee cold and then it makes my whole body chill and its hard to get warm.
So I count my calories daily to keep my calorie intake below 1000. Tonight I'm going to be making a cabbage soup that claims to help with weight loss. I'll try it for a week and see what happens. The recipe makes a weeks worth so it will be interesting to see if I can tolerate eating the same thing for dinner all week long.

Good luck on the diet; I'm working on losing weight myself.

Cabbage is a diuretic, you could lose water weight, but you'll probably get sick of the soup before it is all gone (been there, done that).

1,000 calories seems really low for you. I can't imagine you have any energy with that little caloric intake. Did you track what your average intake was before the diet? I would think you could go 1400-1800 and lose weight, with your height.

No energy and starving will just end in failure - you gotta eat enough to function!

Thanks Bob!

Harper- my calorie intake was well over 3000. I'm ashamed that I let myself go. I figured if I hit it hard the first two weeks it would get my mind in the mode of no more junk food and fatty fried food. The soup was good but I'm going back to fixing my low cal food. I could barely get a bowl of the soup down me last night and I ended up giving the pot of soup away.

It sucks (for you and me both) that it is Girl Scout cookie time. Then it is suddenly Valentine's Day, then look out, here comes the Easter Bunny. Sweets are my downfall and there doesn't seem to be a break between Halloween and Easter.

Y'all will be proud of me. At Christmas I made 2 pecan pies, 2 pumpkin pies, bon bons, and fudge...only ate one bon bon to make sure it wasn't nasty tasting...it wasn't, but that was it. I have got a horrible sweet tooth, so I just quit them cold turkey. Oh, and don't pass out, but I'm actually using that gym membership I've been paying for. hahahaha!!!
